I totally understand why it's an important piece of American culture, but - for just a second - please allow me to let you forget about this film being an American masterpiece.

After Ferris told me to go home, I proceeded to read up about the film online and discovered exactly what the cultural significance of 'FBDO' is. Well, what can I say? First of all: What a great watch! It's fun, it's clever, it's solid. I'm Dutch and this film is, in general, absolutely not that well known here as it is in The States.

I had heard of it (the movie is mentioned on Reddit a lot, for example), but had never seen it before. I was searching for a comedy film on Netflix when I stumbled on this film. Last night, I watched the 1986 teen comedy Ferris Bueller's Day Off for the first time in my life.
